Pickup and status calls

When a return is marked ready in your tax software, the client gets a call or text automatically.

Call · The short end of 3 to 11 weeks. It is the smallest system we build.

A return manager marks returns ready for pickup. A call log fills one row at a time with the client, return, time called and result: answered, voicemail, or no answer retrying. Counters show calls made, voicemails left and returns still uncollected.

Pickup and status calls

How it works

Step by step.

  1. 01

    A return is marked ready

In CCH iFirm, TaxCycle or your return manager. Nothing extra to click.

  2. 02

    The client gets the call

A recorded message in your firm's name: your return is ready to pick up, here are our hours. Or a text, if they prefer.

  3. 03

    The result is logged

Answered, voicemail, or no answer. No answer retries later.

  4. 04

You see who is still uncollected

One list, updated as calls land, so nobody is called twice and nobody is forgotten.

What you get

Included in the build.

  • Triggered by the status in your tax software
  • Recorded message or text, your choice per client
  • Retries on no answer, never calls twice on answered
  • A live list of uncollected returns
  • Works for status calls too: received, in review, ready

Works with

  • CCH iFirm
  • TaxCycle
  • Karbon

Your data on this system

The call contains a name and the words 'your return is ready'. Nothing sensitive, so this system is intentionally simple, and the calling service may run on infrastructure outside Canada.

Typical timeline
